Getting Your Plumbing Repaired

A few months ago, I realized that our home had some serious plumbing issues. It seemed like our sinks were constantly clogged, and it was really frustrating to deal with. I didn't want to have to unplug a drain every single time I wanted to take a shower, so I decided to call in a few professional plumbers to make things right. They were amazing to work with. They were able to quickly identify the cause of the problem and flush out the drains in a jiffy. After our plumbing was finally fixed, I felt like I could start focusing my attention on other home issues. Check out this blog to find out how plumbers could help you.

3 Ways To Handle A Clogged Toilet

A clogged toilet is a huge problem. You may be able to clear the clog out yourself, but if it is a chronic problem, then you may need to have a plumber come out to your house so that they can get your toilet flushing again. What are some of the ways to get the toilet unclogged?

Plunger

One way that you can get the toilet unclogged is by using a plunger. There are many plunger styles, so you need to make sure you are using the right one. Generally, a plunger that gets used on the toilet is made out of black rubber. It has a small flange at the end of the cup. That flange is designed to fit into the drain in the toilet bowl. That will help to create a good, tight seal, which is necessary for the best results. Insert the plunger, push it up and down a few times, then see if the water in the bowl goes down.

Toilet Auger

Augers are also called snakes. This is something you can do on your own since you can pick one up in the plumbing section of a hardware store or a home improvement store, but it's also something that a plumber could do. Generally, the augers you get at the store aren't going to be as good as the one that the plumber has or reach as far into the toilet. The auger works because the end of the tool has a claw on the end of it. You feed it down into the pipes and spin the auger around. The claw will grab into the clog and break it up.

Wet/Dry Vac

This is something that the plumber should do because it could cause problems with your pipes if you don't know what you are going. The way that this works is that the plumber can take the vac and suck up the water that's in the bowl. Once they have done that, the plumber can then take the vac and then blow air into the pipes. That can blast through the clog and push it further down and help to break it up.

If you have a problem with a clogged toilet, you may be able to handle it yourself. However, it isn't always possible to handle it yourself, so that's when you should call a plumber and have them clear it out for you. Contact a plumber for more information.
